General Terms and Conditions (GTC)
By signing the registration form, the participant has bindingly registered for a language training course at Language Center Services. This can be done by means of a written form or via the Internet. The participant undertakes to pay the course fees in full before the start of the course or in installments upon confirmation of participation by Language Center Services. In the case of payment by installments, the first installment is due before the start of the course. The obligation to pay is independent of the number of lessons taken. A course is only booked after binding registration and payment of the course fees. If a participant is unable to attend the course for urgent reasons (prolonged illness, unforeseen change of residence), part of the course fee may be refunded if it is obvious that unforeseeable events justify withdrawal. The amount of the refund depends on the length of time between the written notification and the start of the course according to the confirmation of participation: Up to 14 days before the start of the course 90% refund, up to 10 working days 70% refund, up to 7 working days 40% refund, up to 5 working days 10% refund. In the event of notification less than 5 working days (Mon-Fri) before the start of the course, no refund is possible. In all cases, the participant must notify us in writing of his/her withdrawal from the course, together with the relevant supporting documents. Course fees for group courses cannot be refunded pro rata if a course is canceled. Courses with a monthly term must be canceled in writing by letter or e-mail (info@LC-erlangen.de) at least two weeks before the end of the month. Otherwise the course will be extended by a further month.
The minimum length of a training session is 60 minutes. Intensive courses can be considerably longer. A training session, as mentioned in the offer, is 45 minutes. Standard training sessions are a) online = 60 minutes b) on-site lessons = 90 minutes.
Additional costs may be charged for special requests for training locations. Additional travel costs can also be claimed when switching from online training to face-to-face training on site.
In urgent cases, individual lessons can be postponed up to two times in succession if Language Center Services (Tel. 09131-52027) is notified in good time, i.e. no later than 24 hours before the agreed start of the lesson (and no later than 2 p.m. on Friday for lessons on the following Monday). Failure to meet this deadline will result in an obligation to pay for the agreed lessons. These conditions also apply if individual lessons have been extended beyond the original number of lessons without a written re-registration.
If the course participant is unable to attend the agreed lessons due to unforeseeable circumstances such as illness, accident, etc., we request written notification stating the reason: in the case of illness, together with a medical certificate. If participation in the entire course (individual training only) is desired, the payments already made will be refunded minus a € 100 processing fee.
If a course offered by Language Center Services does not take place, the participant will be refunded all course fees paid. Furthermore, Language Center Services is entitled to provide a substitute teacher in the event of a teacher’s absence, or to cancel individual lessons and add them to the end of the course.
There is no entitlement to a specific teacher. If an individual training course is postponed by the customer for more than three weeks, we reserve the right to appoint a new instructor.
In the case of group lessons, no alternative date will be made available if individual participants are unable to attend a lesson.
In the event of a change in the number of participants, Language Center Services reserves the right to make price changes.
Language Center Services endeavors to design the course material in such a way that each participant can achieve the desired goal. However, Language Center Services accepts no liability if a language objective is not achieved or an examination is not passed successfully.
The lessons serve the purpose of training and further education or professional development. Each participant must behave in such a way that this objective is guaranteed equally for all participants.
The liability of Language Center Services for damages of any kind is limited to cases of intent or gross negligence on the part of Language Center Services.
Language Center Services must be informed immediately of any changes of name, address or telephone number.
Cancellation policy and special termination rights
This contract can be revoked within fourteen days of conclusion of the contract. To do so, you must send Language Center Services a clear declaration of intent in writing (letter sent by post, e-mail or fax).
Consequences of revocation:
If services have already been provided by Language Center Services by the time of revocation, you must pay a corresponding compensation. This must correspond to the ratio of the services already rendered to the total service.
The courses are booked for a predetermined period or for a certain number of hours. If the lessons are not attended or are interrupted, there is no entitlement to a refund of the course fee. This does not affect the statutory right of withdrawal.
